Layar is Now Available in BlackBerry App World!
After the recent release of several new Augmented Reality-capable devices, BlackBerry users can finally download Layar!
Layar now supports the following BlackBerry 7 OS devices: BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930, BlackBerry Torch 9850/9860 and BlackBerry Torch 9800/9810 and is available for download in the BlackBerry App World!
We’re also launching a BlackBerry version of the Layar Player very soon, so any BlackBerry app can use Layar technology!
The BlackBerry Layar client is similar to the Android and iPhone 5.0 clients with a few exceptions, including that there is currently no Layar Vision beta for BlackBerry. For full details on these variations, please see our BlackBerry support announcement.

This blog post indicates that Layar is available for the BlackBerry Torch 9850/9860. However, in BlackBerry App World it is available for the 9860 but not the 9850. Is this just a mistake in the listing on App World, or will it truly not be available on the 9850?
Great news! Blackberry is very popular in Canada.
It was indeed an oversight in the App World, but luckily we got the heads up from you and other 9850 users quickly so you should now be able to download it!
BTW we have 9860 devices but not 9850 ones to test on; we just suppose that they are compatible based on http://us.blackberry.com/smartphones/blackberry-torch-9850-9860/
Any updates on when to expect the Layar Player for Blackberry? that very soon in the article is making me very excited to see it this Q4?
Are there any plans to bring Layar Vision to the BB in the near future? And can you give us a very rough timeframe on when the Layer player for BB might be launched?
We don't have any plans develop Layar Vision on Blackberry just yet, but if that changes you'll see it first here on the blog.

Will this work on a BB Torch 9800?

I have a Blackberry 9800 does not seem to be any Layar support for it yet. Are their plans to support Blackberry?
