The Layar Reality Browser is a mobile augmented reality application available for users of most smartphones, including iPhone and Android devices.

Augmented reality technology allows us to view digital information superimposed onto reality with the aid of cameras, GPS, compasses and accelerometers. With Layar installed on a modern smartphone, anyone can easily discover new information by simply looking around their world.

With Layar Vision, we’ve taken augmented reality to the next level, establishing a whole new breed of experiences. Using computer vision technology, these layers will enable users to digitally engage and interact with objects and images in the real world.

Getting started is simple:

1. Create an account and confirm at layar.com/accounts/register/
2. Go to layar.com/development and click the “Become a Developer” link
3. Fill in the form and accept the terms and conditions to sign up
4. Click on “My Layers” (top right of the page)
5. Check our showcases for inspiration, then start developing!
