As a User Experience Designer you will be at the center of helping design and build augmented reality experiences for millions of users. This is a position reporting to the VP of Product Development, and you will work with co-workers in Amsterdam and Ukraine to deliver world-class products.
JOBS SPECS
As the Mobile and Interactive User Experience Designer you:
- Translate product requirements, user tests and market research data into wire-frames and user experience designs.
- Always focus on making products better and easy to use.
- Set up and perform user tests. Analyze and present the gathered data.
- Work with developers on the implementation and optimization of UX designs.
PROFILE
- Experienced in interaction design for web and mobile applications.
- Familiar with design guidelines of common platforms and understand how (and when) to apply them.
- Interested in developments of new and innovative design patterns in user experience.
- Understands user behavior, and have some experience with user testing.
- Focused on creating highly optimized, intuitive and user-focused UX designs.
- Expert in making wire-frame documents and flowcharts.
- Collaborative team player with self-organizing skills.
- Wizard in Adobe CS, Omnigraffle and Keynote.
- Able to work in a rapidly developing and changing environment on multiple simultaneous projects.

Analyst

You will be responsible for providing insights into how millions of people experience augmented reality every day. This input will help drive the business decisions of the company.
JOB SPECS
As an Analyst at Layar you will:
- work closely with one or more teams within Layar and actively help them define which quantitative insights are needed.
- be responsible for providing the team(s) with these quantitative insights (e.g., set up monthly reports).
- actively participate in project groups to fully understand new product features or business processes and identify new data/reporting requirements resulting from these projects.
- be responsible for translating business requirements into technical requirements.
PROFILE
As an Analyst you should have:
- A masters degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Computer Science or a similar study.
- At least 3 years of work experience as an Analyst.
- An eye for detail and a structured approach to solving problems.
- A passion for transforming data into insight.
- The ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
- A self-starter attitude and good communication skills.
- Knowledge of statistics, quantitative modeling and data mining.

Technical Developer Support Engineer

The Layar developer community is key to our success and is growing at a very fast pace. In order to stay closely connected to our expanding developer community, Layar is now looking for an experienced technical support engineer who will manage technical requests from the entire community. The ideal candidate is responsible, communicative and committed to providing high level technical support to ensure the success of our developers.
This position is a very important link between Layar’s global developer community and the Layar team. He/she should provide excellent technical support for developers to simplify their layer development process. He/she must also be aware of the value of feedback from the community to help the Layar team develop our platform in the right directions.
The holder of this position reports to the head of the Support team.
JOB SPECS
Key responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for Layar products.
- Manage technical tickets and questions raised in support desk tools and Layar developer community forums.
- Validate bug reports and create bug tickets when a bug is verified. Test and confirm that bugs have been fixed.
- Review layers that request publication approval. Act as layer quality assurance, while inspiring and encouraging developers to create richer Layar content and immersive augmented reality experiences.
- Write and improve Layar Wiki documentation in a clear, concise and timely manner, including updating the documentation, writing tutorials / examples, etc.
PROFILE
Requirements:
- 1 - 2 years experience working as a technical support in IT with strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills.
- Knowledge of PHP or other similar scripting languages and web-based APIs (such as JSON).
- Experience in managing multiple accounts and the ability to multitask with varying priorities.
- Ability to coordinate the various resources in different teams to solve escalated technical problems.
- Fast learner and a team player with a positive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
