What is the Layar Player?
The Layar Player is a tool for developers that permits them to embed their layers into their own application instead of viewing them solely from within the Layar Reality Browser.

How much does it cost?
Layar technology is always free for end-users. While there is no cost to build a points-of-interest based geo layer, the developer/publisher may incur some cost when using Layar Vision technology, depending on the layer's level of usage. See the pricing page for more detailed information.

How do I use it?
After creating a layer on the Layar platform, use the Layar Player to copy and paste a few lines of code into an existing Xcode project. Then submit your application to the App Store for approval and publication.

What do I need to make my own app?
Using the Layar Player requires basic knowledge of app development. The Layar Player cannot create an application for you. Instead it provides you with a toolkit with which you can embed a layer into a previously existing application.

What is Layar Vision?
Layar Vision is an extension of the Layar platform, taking augmented reality to the next level by allowing the creation of layers and applications that recognize real world objects and display digital experiences on top of them. Please see the Layar Vision page for more information.

What platforms is Layar Player available for?
Currently the Layar Player is for iPhone only, but an Android version will be available soon.
